Motorhome sales still on the up for Trigano

Trigano has seen sales of its motorhomes rise by 7.1% in the past six months, its latest figures suggest, despite uncertainty about the economic and political climate.

The French company has a number of subsidiaries, including a number of well-known makes of motorhomes, such as Auto-Sleepers and Auto-Trail (which produces ‘vans such as the Expedition 68XL, pictured above), and also owns Marquis Leisure in the UK.

Publishing its results for the first six months of its financial year, Trigano saw total sales of motorhomes and caravans rise by 6.8% on a like-for-like basis.

The company, whose subsidiaries on the continent include Chausson and Adria, among others, says it has now ramped up production to fall more in line with dealer demands, although a fire at a supplier means some deliveries may have to be pushed back to the second half of its financial year.

The company said, “In the near term, the global political situation is not expected to have a significant impact on motorhome markets in Europe. In view of the order book, production capacity will be saturated until the end of the season.”

It says motorhomes and caravans “represent a perfect riposte to three key consumer expectations: autonomy, flexibility and overall budget control.

“Travelling with a privately-owned leisure vehicle means avoiding costly air travel and hotels, staying in nearby destinations and adapting easily to changing international circumstances” the company adds.
