The first island bed model ever to feature in Auto-Sleepers Broadway range is having its debut at the Motorhome & Caravan Show at the NEC this week.
Broadway IB LXV is one of four models the company is bringing out in its new LXV 65th anniversary range – and is the only completely new layout in the range.
The model, which could appeal to fans of island bed motorhomes, comes with an L-shaped front dinette with two travel seats and a kitchen with a four-burner dual fuel hob with a domestic style trivet above a separate oven and grill, a flatbed microwave and a half height motorhome fridge.
The washroom, spread across the centre of the ‘van, has a passenger side shower cubicle with a rain shower. The unusually angular-shaped island bed has a good amount of room around the edge, and can still be rolled back to make a daybed.

As with the other three models in the range, which include the low-profile Broadway EL LXV, and the Kingham LXV and Warwick XL LXV, the Broadway IB is based on a Fiat Ducato.
And also along with the other three models, it has had some features that would have appeared on the standard models removed to keep the price competitive.

So while there is exclusive upholstery inside and special decals on the outside, there is no leather steering wheel, and only the standard Fiat screen on the dashboard. You only get a white cab, and there is no spare wheel – only a Fix’n’Go kit.
But the company is also offering automatic transmission and alloy wheels – which together would cost £4395 – for just £65 extra as part of the anniversary deal.
To celebrate the company’s 65th anniversary, the new model is being shown alongside a Dodge-based model the company produced in the 1960s, not long after its original Commer model. This four-berth comes with a pop-up roof that rises on all sides, and solid wood cupboards complete with conventional hinges.
Find this all on stand 8-25.
