Temporary insurance platform GoShorty has announced that it is expanding its coverage to include temporary motorhome insurance for the first time, with the aim of providing a more flexible service in particular for peer-to-peer borrowers.
The company is offering cover lasting for between one and 28 days, all of which should be able to be arranged through the mobile app it launched last year.
It says one big advantage of its cover is that the original motorhome owner’s policy and no claims discount will not be affected should anyone taking out temporary insurance on the vehicle have a claim.
It says many standard annual private policies leave original owners exposed in such situations.
GoShorty managing director Phil Evans said, “The motorhome sector has seen a rise in peer-to-peer borrowing, particularly in 2026 with the cost of foreign travel soaring and staycations set to rise – yet navigating the insurance requirements can be a pain point for both lenders and borrowers.
“Motorhomes and campervans are all about freedom, and our temporary insurance solution is designed to give customers just that. Our policies simplify the borrowing process, mitigate risk for the owner and open up new avenues of flexible, short-term use to enable drivers to get out and enjoy the open road.”
Temporary motorhome insurance is the first of three new areas the company is hoping to expand into in the next few months. Temporary taxi insurance will be next to roll out, and after that temporary hire-and-reward car insurance for food and parcel delivery drivers.
In other news, Forestry England has announced it will be permitting overnight stays at seven of its car parks this summer.
Frankia has also announced it will be updating its Neo range for 2027, adding new Neo A-class liners. The manufacturer will also be making three of its Fiat models available as Final Edition special editions.
