Volkswagen makes minor changes to the Grand California for 2027

Volkswagen has made minor changes to the inside of its Grand California models for the 2027 season – and taken the price down so it now starts at £68,960 excluding VAT.

Order books are open for the new VW campervan, which is still available as the shorter 600 and longer 680 model, with eight-speed automatic transmission as standard and 4MOTION four-wheel-drive as a cost option. They come based on the VW Crafter, which is one of the best vans for a camper conversion.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is also introducing a UK-only Dune special edition of the vans, with some unique features, costing from £69,960.

For 2027 interior surfaces on the Grand California are finished in Atami Bamboo trim, while there’s also a hard-wearing wood-effect floor. There are additional storage units and a new fold-out table.

Fitted campervan solar panels are a cost option as part of the Off Grid package that also includes two 40Ah LifePO4 batteries. These provide 40% more usable battery capacity.

The Dune special edition models come with an Ascot Grey exterior colour with a contrasting black grained bumper, something you won’t see on any other California model.

You also get 17-inch Lismore black alloy wheels, special decals on the front and side, LED headlights with automatic headlight control and separate LED daytime running lights, plus Climatronic air conditioning and ambient lighting inside.

In other recent news, Venture Caravans & Motorhomes has become an authorised dealer for Carado. It will be the second Erwin Hymer Group brand that the dealer has taken on.
