It’s probably not the place to go for really big purchases like your actual vehicle or an awning, but Amazon Prime Day can be a great place to go to get a good deal on those little items that really enhance your touring experience.
This week’s event (23-26 June) is no exception. Here are five items I came across that I was seriously tempted by. Don’t miss my pick of the five products in the Prime Day sale that I think would elevate any tour this summer, as well.

Camping cookware set was £25.99 now £20.99 (save 19%)
If you have graduated to a caravan or motorhome from camping, you might like to think you can graduate up your kitchenware too. But while you possibly can use standard size pans on a caravan or motorhome hob, too many of them are still so small that you might find that one pan takes over the whole hob. Going for the sturdy collapsible non-stick items that are included in this set seems a much better option. And the kettle looks kind of funky too.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite was £169.99 now £134.99 (save 21%)
I am an avid book reader, I admit it, and I like to read as much as possible when I am snuggling up in my van. But I would be the first to admit that books themselves are not the most practical thing to take with you – at least not in great numbers. They weigh a lot, tend to fly about when you are on the move, and motorhomes and caravans generally do not generally have the kind of space where you can put them. An Amazon Kindle is a much better solution, especially a Paperwhite version like this which comes much closer to feeling like an actual book when you read it.

Rechargeable camping lantern was £36.99 now £27.99 (save 24%)
A rechargeable torch that you can also put down to act as a lantern while you use both hands to concentrate on the job in hand always seems like a good idea. This LED torch has five different lighting modes but can power up to 1000 lumen over a distance of 500m. Even as a lantern it has three modes. It’s rechargeable through a USB port, and on lower power can stay on for four and a half hours before you need to recharge it again.

16-piece melamine tableware set was £31.65 now £26.90 (save 15%)
You want to have lightweight crockery to take with you, and pretty much unbreakable melamine is always a good choice. But too many sets look like something you might have taken with you back in the day on your first Duke of Edinburgh trip. This 16-piece set is far more sophisticated. It comes with everything you could need for your tours, and handily includes four beakers too.

Camping fairy lights were £22.99 now £15.65 (save 32%)
I don’t know why people think fairy lights are just a Christmas thing. To me they epitomise summer. String them around your awning (making sure first that you have permission to do so from the campsite owner) and you can make a longer summer evening spent outside even more magical. This rechargeable set with eight different lighting modes which can last for 14 hours before it needs recharging gets extra brownie points because they lights all roll up into a case that doubles up as a central lantern and an extra phone charger. So you can easily pack them away – for use at Christmas too!
