Silver Sands Holiday Park, a family-run Cornish campsite in the Lizard Peninsula, has been awarded a Five-Star rating by the AA.

It has proved to be a successful few weeks for Silver Sands, which was also voted the best motorhome site in Cornwall in our Top 100 Sites Guide 2026, taking the Regional Winner’s crown for an impressive fifth year in a row.

The campsite has invested £1 million over the past two years, with improvements, including upgrading the facilities, adding hot tubs, improving the Wi-Fi, and adding five Signature Cove Lodges, culminating in the AA praising the “real transformation” that has taken place.

Other aspects that were highlighted included the attention to detail, overall cleanliness and the professionalism of the staff.

Allen Main, co-owner of the campsite, said, “As a privately owned, family-run holiday park, we’re delighted to be recognised amongst the very best holiday parks in the UK. Receiving the AA’s Five-Star award shows our commitment not only to the grounds, but also to the overall guest experience. We’re incredibly proud to welcome back so many returning guests each year, as well as those discovering us through word of mouth.”

In other touring news, the executive chair of the North Coast 500 Ltd has said there are plans underway to add more parking near towns and clearer signage along the NC500 route.
